ACA supports launch of Voice of the Educator Survey 2026

The Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) is pleased to support for the Fraser Foundation’s Voice of the Educator Survey 2026, a national initiative designed to capture the lived experiences, pressures and priorities of Australia’s early childhood education and care (ECEC) workforce.

The survey, led by the Fraser Foundation, is being delivered in partnership with independent research agency McCrindle and seeks to provide one of the most comprehensive snapshots to date of the early learning profession across the country.

As part of the collaboration, the ACA is supporting sector-wide engagement to help ensure educators from all states and territories are encouraged to participate and have their voices represented in the findings.

The survey is open to the full ECEC workforce, including early childhood teachers, educators, assistants, centre directors and support staff. It explores what professionals value most about their work, the key pressures they are currently facing, and the types of support they believe are needed to strengthen the sector into the future.

ACA President Paul Mondo said the initiative aligns with the ACA's ongoing commitment to elevating the voices of educators and strengthening evidence-based advocacy for the sector.

“By capturing the experiences of educators from across Australia, this survey will provide valuable insights that can help inform future advocacy efforts, workforce initiatives and policy development,” Mr Mondo said.

Fraser Foundation Founder Jae Fraser said the survey was designed to ensure educators are more directly included in conversations shaping their profession.

“Educators are at the heart of early learning, but they are not always the ones being asked what needs to change,” Mr Fraser said.

“This survey is about listening properly. We want to understand what is working, what is placing pressure on educators, and what they believe is needed to better support the profession."

The survey is confidential and anonymous, with all results reported in aggregate. It takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete.

Findings from the Voice of the Educator Survey 2026 will be released later this year in a visual report and infographic summary, providing new insights into workforce sentiment across the ECEC sector.

The initiative is also supported by Child Care Super, which joins McCrindle and ACA in encouraging participation from educators nationwide.

Educators completing the survey may also choose to enter a draw to win one of four $1,000 gift vouchers. Entry is optional and not required to participate.

The survey is now open at Voice of the Educator Survey 2026.
